Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information RjPreis Enterprises LLC, doing business as The Fablekin Universe collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep collection to what we need to deliver packets and run your membership.
What we collect
- Account details: the adult account holder's name and email address, and the first name, nickname and age tier you choose for each reader so letters can greet them.
- Purchase details: what you bought, your plan and renewal dates. Card and PayPal details are entered directly with Stripe or PayPal; we never see or store full card numbers.
- Portal activity: which packets you downloaded, your character queue and requests, and gift card balances.
- Messages: emails and forms you send us.
- Basic technical data: browser type, pages visited and similar information collected by our hosting provider and, if enabled, analytics or advertising tags (see below).
How we use it
To create and personalize packets, deliver them to your portal, process payments and renewals, send receipts and account emails, answer support requests, prevent fraud, and improve the site. With your permission, we also send newsletters and early character reveals; you can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any message.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Fablekin, under their own privacy and security terms: Stripe and PayPal (payments), Netlify (hosting and data storage), our email delivery provider (receipts and account email), Mailchimp (newsletter, only if you subscribe), and Google Drive (packet file storage). We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights and our members.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
The portal stores a sign-in token in your browser so you stay signed in. If we enable analytics or advertising measurement (such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or Pinterest Tag), those tools may set cookies to measure site visits and ad performance on adult-facing pages. We do not use these tools to build advertising profiles of children, and we do not knowingly target advertising to children.
Children's privacy (COPPA notice)
Fablekin is designed for families, classrooms and programs, and our packets are read by children. Our accounts, however, are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, and children should not create accounts, make purchases or email us.
When a parent, guardian or educator gives us a child's first name or nickname and age tier so a letter can greet them, we use it only to personalize that family's or program's packets. We do not require a child's last name, photo, school, address or contact details, and we do not ask children to provide personal information to take part in any activity. We do not share a child's information for advertising.
A parent or guardian can review the child information on the account, ask us to change or delete it, or refuse further use of it, at any time by emailing rjpreis1@yahoo.com from the account email address. Educators who add student first names must have the school's or parent's permission to do so.
If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly. If you believe this has happened, please contact us.
How long we keep it
We keep account and library records for as long as your account is open so you can re-download past packets. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal information except what we must keep by law.
Your choices and rights
You can view and update account details in the member portal, manage billing through the secure billing portal, unsubscribe from marketing email, and ask us for a copy of your information or to correct or delete it by emailing rjpreis1@yahoo.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws; we will honor valid requests and will not treat you differently for making one.
Security
We use encrypted connections, password-protected member accounts, and payment processors that meet card-industry security standards. No online service is perfectly secure, so please keep your password private.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify members by email.
